Self-service BI and analytics are playing an increasingly important role in organizations as they realize the value of putting enterprise information directly into the hands of decision-makers. Individuals from across the organizational ecosystem – from front-line employees to external parties like customers and business partners – are being empowered with access to data that they can work with in real-time to help progress business goals.
In fact, Gartner predicts that by next year, “most business users and analysts in organizations will have access to self-service tools.” That said, Gartner also notes that at this time most of these BI initiatives are not governed sufficiently, which can lead to decision-making based on corrupt, invalid or incomplete data.
So how are organizations addressing this increasing thirst for better data and better analytics that can be shared with a wider range of users without added risk?
In the coming months, we’re excited to announce that a selection of Information Builders’ customers will highlight their stories, describing how they enabled their employees to “raid their data” and satisfy their appetites for better insights. The stories from leaders at customer organizations will appear here on our blog and outline how they benefited from the data-raid and subsequent data-driven decisions. Be sure to check in regularly— we’ll also share tips and best practices for realizing the benefits that comprehensive self-service BI and analytics solutions can offer.
