How Scalability Drives Value: Supporting More Data and Analytics Use Cases

This is the second of three posts that talks about the three key ways to scale an analytics environment: more users, more use cases, and more complex data sources and types. Today, we’re discussing companies that rely on our platform to support many different use cases.


First, it’s worth noting that each WebFOCUS InfoApp™ can replace hundreds or thousands of interactive reports from other vendors. No exaggeration: WorldPay replaced 27,000 reports with just 10 InfoApps.

That’s possible because our InfoApps go way beyond sorts and filters. Everything can be parameterized and altered by the end user, just using basic controls such as drop-down boxes and radio buttons: dimensions, measures, ranking options, summarization options, interactivity options, drill throughs, you name it.

To give you a sense of how that works in practice, imagine four charts on a dashboard: revenue by region, revenue by product, returns by region, and returns by product. In a typical interactive dashboard or report, each of those will have sorts and filters, but they’re all maintained separately. With WebFOCUS, however, all of these (and a lot more) can be run from a single InfoApp.

North American Lighting


North American Lighting, a leading producer of lighting products for the automotive market, created more than 100 reports, dashboards, and InfoApps. These assets streamline and enhance activities across the company, including production, timekeeping, HR, warehouse and plant management, accounting, materials management, fulfillment and shipping, and more. Steel Technologies


Intuitive InfoApps empower business users at Steel Technologies with continual insight into critical functions throughout the organization.
