The Health Collaborative Selects ibi’s Omni-HealthData Cloud Solution to Provide Unified Data Exchange and Analytics Applications
Enables Real-Time, Actionable Insights to Improve Health Care in a Rapidly Evolving Landscape
New York, NY
Information Builders, Inc. (ibi), the leading data and analytics company, today announced that The Health Collaborative (THC), a nonprofit health and healthcare improvement organization based in Cincinnati, has selected Omni-HealthData to improve its suite of data-driven technology services for clinicians, providers, payers, and other stakeholders in the healthcare and community ecosystem. THC’s implementation of ibi Omni-HealthData Cloud solutions, available via AWS, enables a unified health system and payer data exchange that gives users a single source of truth from disparate systems. In addition, IBI’s powerful analytics applications enable rapid decision-making – ultimately improving the lives of patients across the Greater Cincinnati region.
THC’s hb/suite of technology services delivers value-based care data and analytics solutions, connecting physicians with each other and their patients. Designed to support health information exchange (HIE) and technology adoption, the hb/suite provides the tools that healthcare providers need to streamline workflows and advance better healthcare in areas such as value-based care and quality improvement.
Initially, THC was looking for a new enterprise data warehouse solution that would allow for clinical data stored in-house for analytical purposes. Key stakeholders quickly realized that there was room for growth across its technology stack and brought ibi onsite for a complete assessment. ibi partnered with Ready Computing, a health information system integrator and HIE expert, to complete the onsite evaluation and ultimately facilitate the build-out and implementation of the new solution.
“Omni-HealthData’s ability to integrate health system data with payer data provides value to a broad array of stakeholders in the healthcare industry,” said Alex Vaillancourt, chief information officer and senior vice president, Informatics, The Health Collaborative. “From health systems, physician organizations, payers, care management teams, state and local health departments, behavioral health, and social service agencies, our customers benefit from the flexibility to analyze and deliver clear, concise, and accurate metrics on the healthcare data ecosystem as well as population health analytics.
“Ultimately, ibi not only proved the capabilities of its Omni-HealthData platform and its understanding of our needs, but also demonstrated their desire to be a trusted partner for the 58 hospitals, 1,222 practices, more than 17,000 physicians, and the eight million patients who rely on our services,” Vaillancourt continued.
Based on the new integrated payer and health system data exchange, analytics applications were developed with Omni-HealthData to support Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) and Value-Based Care Analytics – national initiatives which seek to reform multi-payer payment and transform care delivery. With THC’s new Omni-HealthData applications, practices can analyze clinical data and performance measures in the context of these models and submit them to health plans in under one day compared to a process that once took months. Aside from time savings, automating these processes improves THC’s customer satisfaction by allowing providers to better focus on patient care.
In addition to analytics, THC is leveraging Omni-HealthData to create a next-generation HIE using a Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) Gateway to seamlessly distribute data to its customers and partners and embrace the FHIR standard for a more interoperable healthcare system.
“Working with The Health Collaborative on its analytics and next-generation HIE projects embodies many of the values we have at ibi when it comes to data,” said Dennis McLaughlin, vice president, Omni operations and product management, ibi. “Like the FHIR standard, our mission is to break down data silos to create shareable, trusted data that can be easily analyzed and used by all to improve the entire healthcare ecosystem.”
“The Health Collaborative is uniquely positioned to deliver these technology services as a neutral nonprofit entity with an established reputation of trust for managing the availability, usability, integrity, and security of health data exchanged throughout our region and beyond,” said Craig Brammer, president and CEO, The Health Collaborative. “With the ibi Omni-HealthData partnership, we are poised to revolutionize novel uses of data – to inform better care, smarter spending, and ultimately healthier living.”
