Gartner Research–How data and analytics leaders can overcome resistance by turning saboteurs into allies
Sometimes the largest obstacles to successful data and analytics initiatives come from unexpected places. According to Gartner, “Poor management of competing stakeholder agendas, expectations and values contributes to failure of data and analytics initiatives. Thirty percent of respondents in Gartner’s ‘Fifth Annual Chief Data Officer Survey’ said stakeholder resistance and fear were major roadblocks to sharing data in their enterprises.”
Though it seems counterintuitive, opposition to data initiatives stifles progress toward widespread data literacy for many organizations, despite the fact that data literacy will become a necessity for organizations that hope to succeed in coming years.
