January FOCUS Friday: Using Variables/Parameters, Mastering Dynamic Filtering in WebFOCUS Designer and FOCUS Abend

January 23, 2026 | 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM EST

Kick off 2026 with a resolution to master your data! Walter and Renee are back for our first FOCUS Friday of the year, and we’ve lined up a powerhouse session to help you streamline your workflows, interactive designs, and troubleshooting processes.

Using Variables/Parameters

The FOCUS language allows you to use variables to make your procedures more flexible. Join us as we discuss the various variables that are available in WebFOCUS and how to efficiently use them in your code.

Mastering Dynamic Filtering in WebFOCUS Designer

We’re diving deep into WebFOCUS Designer to show you the magic of Dynamic Filtering. When you're looking at a single chart or report, AutoPrompt makes it instantly interactive by automatically popping up filters so you can easily dig into your data. But for the full picture, Page Filtering—whether via an Authored Page or Assembled Visualization (Page)—makes sure every single report and chart moves together with your selections. It's a smooth, super-powerful way to explore your data!

FOCUS Abend

At some time you may need to open a support ticket when your FOCUS jobs fail. After the case is opened we will most likely request additional information from you to better evaluate what the problem may be. This session will highlight the most common pieces of information that may be needed so that they may be sent at the time of opening the case to help expedite the review process.

Whether you’re looking to write more flexible code or provide a more intuitive experience for your end-users, this is the perfect way to start your technical year on the right foot.
